TEAMS from William Grant & Sons will be battling it out this weekend in a virtual cycling race in aid of charity.
The Ride to Recovery race, the latest stage of the company’s #Standfast charity initiative, sees three teams (Team Scotland, Team Ireland and Team England and Wales) competing with each other to be the first to cover 1475 miles – the distance between all of the company’s UK and Ireland distilleries.
Supporters can sponsor the teams at charity website JustGiving, with all proceeds going to hospitality charities The Ben, The Drinks Trust and The Restaurants Association Ireland.
The #Standfast campaign has raised more than ÂŁ265,000 for hospitality charities throughout 2020.
Neil Barker, managing director of William Grant & Sons UK & Ireland, said: “These last seven months have hit the hospitality industry hard. We feel it’s important to continue to support and raise money for the on-trade who have always been such loyal supporters of William Grant & Sons brands.
“As we face new tightening restrictions and possible closures, it’s more important than ever to not let support dwindle as it’s uncertain when these challenges will ease. We are delighted to stand shoulder to shoulder with The Drinks Trust, The Ben in Scotland and The Restaurants Association Ireland to help alleviate hardship.
“Our #Standfast Ride to Recovery is a fun and physical challenge for our employees where members of the public can follow our teams’ progress and cheer them on for great causes.”
