Scotland’s biggest independent beer festival Indie Beer Scotland will return to Clyde Rooms at Edmiston House in Glasgow on the 5th & 6th September.
The festival is organised by Scottish brewers from the not-for-profit trade association the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates – which last year launched its ‘Indie Beer’ campaign as a response to what it described as globally-owned ‘craft’ beer brands.
One of the festival organisers is Ian McGrath of Beath Brewing, who said: “We have big plans for Indie Beer festivals across the UK in 2026, but it all started right here in Scotland and we are hugely proud to be the flagship event for the Indie Beer campaign and to be the festival that showcases the largest number of Scottish beers from independent breweries available anywhere.
“No big brands, no faux-craft, just great beer from genuinely independent Scottish brewers.”
Organisers promise that the Glasgow event – in its third year after launching in 2022 – will be the country’s biggest showcase of solely Scottish beers, offering great value for money, with a large number of its session beers available from just £4 a pint – and all prices frozen at 2024 rates.
Beers on offer range from those session strength lagers and pale ales, to barrel-aged imperial stouts and scotch ales which tip the scales at 10% abv or more.
“We are really proud to offer great value for money and to enable everyone to sample the huge range of cask ales, keg beers and lagers available at Indie Beer Scotland – so have once again frozen our prices, with all beers up to 4.5% available for just £4 a pint,” said Ian.
Each of the three festival sessions will be pouring over a hundred different cask and keg beers from around Scotland’s independent breweries, plus cider and spirits from independent Scottish producers.
The event will also be the home of the Indie Beer Awards 2025, with judging taking place prior to the festival opening to the public – who can then try this year’s winning beers available over the three sessions Friday to Saturday.
