Spirits industry veteran Jean-Dominique Andreu has been appointed as the new managing director of ‘properly improper’ gin company, Brockmans Gin.
Andreu brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry, having worked with several ‘disruptive’ brands, and played a leading role in the creation, marketing strategy and brand development of Cognac Pierre Ferrand, Plantation Rum and Citadelle Gin.
Back in 1989, upon completing his masters in business, Jean-Dominique created and managed Maison Ferrand until 2007, and then took over A. de Fussigny Cognac.
In 2012, he joined the Stoli Group and quickly progressed through its ranks. He created the Stoli Mule, a ‘360 degree drink strategy’ using Stoli ginger beer that included a partnership with Ushuaïa Ibiza aimed at appealing to millennial consumers.
He also created the elite Art of Martini Program with over 1000 top bartenders in 60 cities, and led Bayou Louisiana rum’s global strategy and launches. Most recently, Jean-Dominique was the CMO of Cognac Camus Group where he initiated a strategic premiumisation move for cognac’s fifth largest brand, and oversaw the global marketing for Moutai Baijiu.
Brockmans said that Andreu’s ‘innovative and disruptive approach to business and entrepreneurship’ made him a harmonious fit for its brand, which ‘pays homage to the rituals of the British gin craft while refusing to be beholden to the outdated notions of what is and isn’t gin, and how it should be enjoyed’.
Brockmans Gin claims to be at the forefront of a gin renaissance, offering a range of spirits that ‘defy convention through disruptive botanicals and adventurous blends’. That explorative nature is apparent in Brockman’s two latest blends, the ‘Agave Cut’, a gin and Mexican agave hybrid, and ‘Orange Kiss’, a summery sip of Valencian orange, zesty citrus, traditional gin botanicals and triple sec.
Brockmans founder and executive director Neil Everitt said of the appointment: “I am delighted to welcome Jean-Dominique to Brockmans. He has an impeccable pedigree in developing super-premium spirit brands and we are excited to welcome his high energy, passion and creativity to Brockmans as we look to supercharge business growth across our many markets.”
