Masterchef winner Dan Merriman to join Chef Dean Banks for collaboration

Masterchef: The Professionals winner Dan Merriman

Fresh from his win on Masterchef: The Professionals, 29-year-old Dan Merriman has been invited by Scottish chef – and SLTN Entrepreneur of the Year – Dean Banks, to collaborate on a special menu at The Pompadour in Edinburgh.

For three days only — 20th, 21st, and 22nd February 2025— Dean will welcome Dan to the venue, located within Edinburgh’s Caledonian hotel, and together they promise to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.

Inside The Pompadour

Merriman, originally from Worcestershire, has been praised for his ‘refined skills, creative flair and masterful execution’ and lauded as one of the most exciting young chefs in the UK today.

The Pompadour event will showcase both chefs’ signature dishes, including Dean’s ‘Nanas Banoffee’ with tonka and sour caramel, and one of Dan’s standout creations, Castle Game venison with celeriac and miso apple.

Dean will also be showcasing his ambassadorship with Nespresso at the event, creating a petite four with his favourite vanilla coffee.

Chef Dean Banks

Banks said: “It’s a privilege to collaborate with Dan Merriman, whose talent and dedication to his craft are truly inspiring. I’m excited to bring our shared passion and creativity to The Pompadour for this extraordinary event.”

Merriman added: “Joining Dean Banks for this special series of dinners is an incredible opportunity. The Pompadour is the perfect setting to showcase our combined passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences, and I can’t wait to share this journey with our guests.”

Due to high demand, the two chefs will also be hosting a three-day culinary showcase event at Haar in St Andrews on the 20th, 21st and 22nd March 2025.
