One of Scotland’s top luxury destinations, the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, has unveiled two high-profile appointments, naming Fiona Young as its Spa Director, and Stuart Thomson as its Executive Chef.
Young, who will now oversee One Spa, the hotel’s four-storey wellness haven, has had a 26-year international career, including roles with Carnival Cruises, Cranwell Resort in Massachusetts, and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, the largest yoga retreat in the US.
Returning to Scotland in 2013, Fiona held leadership roles at Crieff Hydro and Apex Hotels before joining Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa. Under her guidance, One Spa recently claimed the coveted title of ‘Best Spa in Scotland’ at the Good Spa Guide Awards 2024.
As Executive Chef, Thomson takes charge of the hotel’s extensive culinary offerings, from its One Square Bar and Brasserie, to in-room dining, private events, and the exclusive Club Lounge.
With a career that includes stints at The Caledonian in Edinburgh, Kimpton Blythswood Square, and Voco Grand Central in Glasgow, Stuart is said to bring ‘an innovative touch’ to Scottish cuisine, promising to further enhance the city’s dynamic food scene.
General manager of the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Martijn Zengerink, said: “The arrival of Fiona and Stuart marks a transformative moment for the hotel.
“Their expertise and passion will undoubtedly enrich our offering, solidifying our position as a leader in Scotland’s luxury hospitality sector. I am thrilled to welcome them to the Sheraton family and look forward to an exciting year ahead.”
