ITISON, the Glasgow-based bars group and daily deals company, has become the third Scottish hospitality business in the space of a week to announce that it is now paying the Real Living Wage.
The news, which comes after similar announcements from Manorview Hotels and Cru Holdings, means that all employees of Itison Venues – which operates seven bars and restaurants across Glasgow – will now be paid at least the Real Living Wage of £9.50 an hour. The move will affect 150 staff across the group.
“The past 18 months have been unbelievably tough for our entire team,” said Nicola Wilkinson, head of operations at Itison Venues.
“We want to help pave a new path for hospitality and that starts by recognising the amazing efforts of our entire team during the hardest period in our history.
“Alongside introducing the real living wage we’re bringing in a raft of new team benefits, training and opportunities as we aim to rebuild back better from the pandemic.”
The Real Living Wage is part of an employee benefits package at Itison which also includes a 50% discount in the company’s venues, private medical cover and tickets to events.
Itison’s estate includes Brel, The Griffin, Maggie May and Sloans.
