Bad Seeds duo to open eatery at The Shore

THE chefs behind Edinburgh dining-at-home service Bad Seeds are to open a new fine dining restaurant in Leith this summer.

Tomás Gormley and Sam Yorke, who have worked in venues including Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, Castle Terrace and Bonnie Badger, will open Heron at The Shore in Leith in July.

They launched Bad Seeds, a dining at home service with menus that changed weekly, in January this year.

At Heron the due – who will function as joint head chefs – will offer a modern Scottish menu that will change every few weeks and aim to showcase the best of seasonal Scottish produce. Suppliers will include Griersons Organics, Phantassie Organic Farm and The Free Company.

Heron will open for dinner Wednesday to Sunday and for lunch on Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant’s website promises “a continuation of the dishes and atmosphere we have achieved with our dining at home menus”.
