CITY of Glasgow College has secured Gold Accreditation status for its hospitality and culinary arts courses from industry training organisation People 1st.
The accreditation recognises colleges that deliver full-time classroom-based hospitality qualifications as well as acknowledging those that work well with employers.
In addition to the Gold Accreditation the college has also been appointed a ‘centre of excellence’ for its food and beverage service, patisserie and confectionery and front office and reception training.
Siobhan Wilson, dean for the faculty of hospitality and leisure at City of Glasgow College, said: “I am very proud of both staff and students for achieving this award which sets out our college as the ‘best of the best’ by employers.
“Our students absorb and benefit from this; they are part of a college renowned as one of the best, providing them with excellent career opportunities. Hospitality and culinary businesses are looking for new routes to find the best talent so being able to add this accreditation and our AA College Rosette to their CVs will undoubtedly help our students stand out.”
