DIAGEO is looking to quench the thirst of experimental drinkers this Christmas with the launch of a limited edition baked gingerbread-flavoured rum.
Captain Morgan Gingerbread Spiced is said to be ideal for Christmas-themed cocktails as consumers are expected to change up their regular drinks orders in venues during the festive period; CGA data showed the number of consumers trying something different in the on-trade almost doubled in the run up to last Christmas.
As the trend towards warm alcoholic drinks increases, the suggested serve for the new variant over the season is a measure of the rum with hot apple juice.
Amy Mooney, head of Captain Morgan – Europe at Diageo, said: “Rum is the commander of cocktails, thanks to its great flavour and versatile nature, so we wanted to be able to offer licensees a new spirit to really help drive sales this Christmas.
