OPERATORS of hospitality and tourism businesses in Glasgow have joined forces to launch a new city-wide gift card.

More than 70 businesses have signed up to be part of the initiative, which operates like a prepaid visa which can be spent in participating restaurants, shops and visitor attractions; Ox & Finch, Halloumi and Rioja are among the restaurants taking part in the scheme, alongside The Clydeside Distillery and Glasgow Life museums.

Ryan James, chair of Glasgow Restaurant Association and owner of the Two Fat Ladies restaurants, said: “This is a fantastic new tourism product as it gives the consumer the flexibility of choosing how and where they spend the card across the city.”
