Glasgow eateries awarded Bib Gourmands

TWO restaurants in Glasgow have been awarded Bib Gourmand status in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide.

Ka Pao and Celentano’s are the only two Scottish restaurants to have gained a Bib Gourmand in the 2022 guide. The accolade is reserved for restaurants deemed to offer “good quality, good value” food and is the step below the Michelin Star.

Across the UK and Ireland, 16 new Bib Gourmands were awarded.

Ka Pao was launched in 2020 by the team behind Ox & Finch. Its cuisine is inspired by the cooking of south east Asia.

The Michelin Guide said the venue’s dishes “have immense flavour and depth” while the staff “are well-versed in speedy, effective service”.

Celantano’s, an Italian-inspired restaurant in the east of the city, is owned and operated by husband and wife team Dean and Anna Parker.

The guide said the cooking at the restaurant “uses the finest Scottish ingredients and comes with plenty of flavour”.

The full Michelin Guide 2022, including the complete list of Michelin Stars for this year, will be published later this week.
