New recruits join Kained’s brigade

GLASGOW-based bar and restaurant group Kained Holdings has bolstered its kitchen team with two youngsters recruited through a charity employment programme.

Jordan Docherty and Daniel McLaughlin completed the 12-week Yes Chef course – run by the Action for Children Scotland charity’s Moving On Scotland service which works with young people released from short-term prison sentences – and were part of the team which delivered a six-course meal for diners at the annual Yes Chef dinner at Glasgow’s Hilton hotel late last month.

The pair have now secured jobs with Kained Holdings – SLTN’s reigning Independent Multiple Operator of the Year – whose outlets include Lebowskis and The Finnieston.

Kained’s development chef Scott Leask said: “I have been so impressed by the effort of both Jordan and Daniel, they’ll be brilliant additions to the team at Kained.

“Without the Yes Chef programme I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet them so I am extremely glad Kained Holdings is so heavily involved.”
