Craft brewer gets Fierce funding

THE craft brewers behind Aberdeen-based Fierce Beer are set to expand production after securing funding from Barclays.

The £120,000 package will go towards the cost of new bottling and fermenting equipment to replace the firm’s current hand bottling machine; production capacity will increase from 300 to 2000 units per hour.

It will also provide working capital to support future growth for the brewery, which was founded in 2015 by directors Dave Grant and David McHardy, amid what’s said to be increasing demand for the beer in both domestic and international markets.

“We believe in flavour, quality and provenance, and are focused on expanding our business,” said Grant.
“With more and more interest from international buyers, it was vital that we had the infrastructure in place to capitalise on new sales opportunities and meet growing demand.”
