EDINBURGH’S Fringe Festival is the place to be this month, with several drinks firms aiming to keep a high profile for their brands at festival venues.
Caledonian Brewery has signed a three-year deal to extend its partnership with the Fringe Society to continue supporting the arts festival. This year it is inviting festival-goers to visit various bars throughout Edinburgh this month to try a range of its beers; venues on the list include Hop Scotch on George Street, Underbelly and Assembly at George Square Gardens, and The Scottish Café on The Mound.
C&C Group, meanwhile, has teamed its Italian beer brand Menabrea with restaurateurs Victor and Carina Contini to create the ‘Menabrea at Contini’ terrace bar at the Continis’ signature George Street restaurant.
With a capacity of 80, the bar is open from 11am to midnight, offering Italian street-style food paired with Menabrea’s lagers.
Glasgow-based brewer West is also running a pop-up bar on George Street. Open until August 27, it is serving a range of brews, including St Mungo, West 4, GPA, Hefeweizen, West Black and Nix (alcohol-free lager).
