Wellpark enters the stout game with the launch of Tennent’s Stout

Tennent’s has officially entered the growing stout category with the launch of Tennent’s Stout.

Rolling out across the Scottish on-trade this month, the 4% ABV stout is described as having ‘a rich roasted character with hints of chocolate, liquorice, treacle and coffee’.

Hazel Alexander, senior brand manager for Tennent’s Lager, said: “With such a rich heritage brewing stout it was only right that we created our own brew for people on home soil to enjoy. The launch of Tennent’s Stout is not only a special moment for us, as we honour our brewing roots, but also for our customers who we know have huge collective pride in where they are from and what they choose to drink. We’re extremely proud of the final product which has performed excellently in consumer testing.

“Demand for darker beers remains high with consumers more open to trying different stouts. In Scotland alone, the stout category grew 22.6% in volume in the last two years and we wanted to create a stout that Scots can call their own. Tennent’s Stout will be a great addition on the bar allowing venues to offer something new in the category especially in time for the darker months when sales tend to peak.”
