‘BIGGER and better’ appears to be the mantra as the returning Edinburgh Bar Show unveils its programme of events and takeovers for 2025.

The show, launched last year by Panda & Sons owner Iain McPherson and Edinburgh Cocktail Week founders Jamie Fauls and Gary Anderson, will see bar takeovers and seminars taking place across Edinburgh.

Seminars at The Voodoo Rooms will include a talk on sherry casks by famed master blender Dr Rachel Barrie, tips on zero waste practices from Discarded Spirits, and a rundown of some of the latest drinks trends from Campari.

Elsewhere, the brand new Edinburgh Gin Distillery will host a ‘meet the makers’ event, while Johnnie Walker Princes Street gives bartenders the chance to try the newest addition to the Johnnie Walker range.

And Edinburgh bars including Lady Libertine, Wildcat, Dragonfly, Hey Palu and Panda & Sons will welcome teams from noted venues including Tabula Rasa, Himkok, Below Stairs and Bird for a series of takeovers.

Iain McPherson said: Last year was a brilliant success and it was amazing to see the Scottish bartending community all pulling together and seeing bartenders from all over the world in Edinburgh. I’m so excited for this year’s EBS, which will have a lot more seminars, events and activities.”

Gary Anderson added: “There was a real buzz at the end of EBS last year, with lots of positive feedback, so we’re excited to build on that for 2025 with the support of our brand partners. It’s great to welcome so many new brands onboard this year, helping us maintain EBS as a free-to-attend event, and develop a programme that we’re sure will inspire attendees and showcase the abundance of talent and drink producers we have here in Scotland.
