It’s a rum do at Max’s Bar

Max’s Bar on Glasgow’s Queen Street plans to descend into ‘Rum Madness’ this March, as it hosts an epic showdown to determine the city’s favourite rum brand.

‘Let’s Rum Wae It’ will run for the whole month, featuring tournament style match-ups, tastings and ‘swag’, social media voting and cocktail specials.

No less than 32 rums will be vying for supremacy, with entries from both well-known brands and some lesser-known hidden gems taking part in the competition.

Max’s Bar director, Zach Sapato – founder of the HospoHang community group for barstaff – said: “Rum is our favourite drink in Max’s, so we’re hyped to dedicate a whole month to finding Glasgow’s Favourite Rum.

“Glaswegians know the versatility of rum – so whether it’s dark, flavoured, spiced, or funky – we’ll be showcasing them all! There will be lots of surprises, freebies, specials, and samples all month – so pop in to Max’s and ‘Let’s Rum Wae It!'”

Daily specials will feature head-to-head match-ups for the first sixteen days of the month, giving rums and brands the chance to showcase their liquid, give samples and freebies to bar patrons, and pitch for votes from customers. The championship voting will take place on Max’s Instagram stories in the final days of March, with the two winners being announced on March 31.
