ScotHot is back for the first time in four years with a stacked line-up of food, drink and tech

More than 200 exhibitors will be at this year’s ScotHot on 8th and 9th March at the SEC.

SCOTHOT 2023 will be an unmissable event for hospitality operators when it returns to Glasgow’s SEC for the first time since 2019.

With more than 200 exhibitors spanning food and drink, technology, catering equipment, tableware and design, the two-day event – on 8th and 9th March – will see the SEC in Glasgow filled with suppliers from every corner of the hospitality industry.

In addition to award-winning fayre from Scotland, the Guild of Fine Food will be hosting some of the best producers from around the UK at its Great Taste Market.

Elsewhere, the increasingly important vegan sector will be the focus at the Plant Based Foods stand.

We look to share ideas, inspiration and trends with some of the best names in the business.

And, as always, the event will include more than just the opportunity to speak to top producers and sample their wares.

The STA Spotlight Stage, hosted by the Scottish Tourism Alliance, will welcome a range of tourism industry speakers to discuss some of the biggest challenges facing the industry in Scotland.

Liquid Academy Live will also be back in action, with a wide range of sessions and events looking at drinks trends and wider hospitality issues.

Examples include a Scottish Bartenders Networking Summit, a ‘Stranger Things’ session, looking at some obscure and unique liquids on the market, and separate sessions on craft beer, white spirits, bitters and rum.

SLTN will also be teaming up with Liquid Academy Live to chair two separate Drinks Industry Question Time panels: a dedicated discussion on the upcoming Deposit Return Scheme organised by the Scottish Licensed Trade Association and a publican panel discussing the wide range of challenges facing pubs and bars in 2023.

And Scotland’s chefs will be well catered for with the return of the Scottish Culinary Championships, which will see chefs from around Scotland face off in a series of challenges.

Competitors will have their mettle tested in a number of timed trials as they compete to create the best sustainable fish dishes, street food and plant-based vegan main courses.

Elsewhere, some of Scotland’s top chefs will host cooking demonstrations as part of ScotHot’s Staff Canteen Live.

“We’re back, bigger and better than ever, and we can’t wait to welcome our partners, sponsors, exhibitors, and guests to ScotHot23,” said Toby Wand, managing director of ScotHot organiser 365 Events.

“It is widely known how challenging the past few years have been for these industries but now we look to the future, sharing ideas, inspiration, and trends with some of the best names in the business.”

This year drinks show In-Drinks will coincide with ScotHot, so there will be an opportunity to sample a wide range of quality beers and spirits, including low and non-alcoholic drinks. More info on page 18.
