‘World’s biggest’ hospitality recruitment campaign launches

HOSPITALITY Rising, the UK-wide industry recruitment initiative, has launched what it describes as the world’s biggest hospitality recruitment campaign.

The new campaign, Rise Fast, Work Young, is running on TikTok and other digital channels as well as outdoor advertising sites across the UK.

Featuring slogans such as “don’t grow old for a living” and “9-5ers wouldn’t get it”, the campaign aims to attract new talent to the industry in a bid to fill the estimated 400,000 vacancies across the UK.

Founded by former Pret A Manger marketer Mark McCulloch, Hospitality Rising has secured the backing of hospitality businesses around the UK, including Scottish operators Buzzworks Holdings, The DRG, Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group, Signature Pubs and Montpeliers.

McCulloch said the launch of Rise Fast, Work Young “represents a major moment in hospitality history”.

“To have so many leading names support this initiative shows the importance of it to our industry,” said McCulloch.

“Hospitality is a sector that’s exciting, rewarding and offers fast growth, because it gives you the life skills to build your own future self and enjoy success – all while having fun.

“In the last few months, we have been working behind the scenes with plans to promote working in hospitality as the ultimate choice for the ambitious, and as an act of rebellion against the 9 to 5.

“We are all united in our approach to make hospitality a preferred job and career choice for all. I have no doubt that this will be something we can look back on with pride.”

Buzzworks managing director, Kenny Blair, said the company is “keen to help showcase hospitality as a fantastic career option for all”.

“We know how powerful campaigns such as Hospitality Rising can be, and Buzzworks is proud to be part of this collective, keen to attract new talent to the hospitality industry within Scotland and beyond, ensuring the long-term survival of the sector,” he said.
