Further support for mental health from Hospitality Health

AS the world marks World Mental Health Day (10th October), Scottish charity Hospitality Health has announced further support for mental health in the industry.

The charity is introducing a new ‘community of practice’ to support those in the industry who participated in its mental health first aid training courses earlier in the year.

Those courses, funded by the Tourism Recovery Fund and delivered by HIT Scotland, taught managers in the industry a range of skills and techniques to help them support their employees’ mental health and wellbeing.

A series of online sessions in the coming weeks will allow those who participated in the training to share their experiences of being mental heath first aiders within their organisations and to discuss any further training and support that might be required.

The sessions will be introduced by Hospitality Health founder, Gordon McIntyre, and hosted by Sara Perry, director of the Good Mental Health Co. They have been funded by licensed trade charity The Ben.

The community of practice sessions will take place on Zoom between 11am and 12pm and 4pm and 5pm on 17th October; 15th November; and 14th December.
