ABERDEEN bartender Ross Lawrie has been named one of two winners of a new cocktail competition for Scottish gin brand Rock Rose.
Lawrie, of Orchid, was named Consumers’ Choice winner of the competition with his Mo Chridhe cocktail, while Cardiff bartender Max Hayward of Lab 22 was named Judges’ Choice winner for his cocktail The North Coast Southside.
Entrants were challenged to create a cocktail which reflected the brand’s Caithness home. A panel of judges then selected the Judges’ Choice winner before a public vote on social media decided the Consumers’ Choice winner.
Claire Murray, co-owner of Rock Rose producer Dunnet Bay Distillers, said the judges were “overwhelmed by the quality of the fabulous entries”.
