AN East Lothian operator is looking to establish his bar and restaurant as a ‘hub’ for local home-workers with the launch of a new service.
Mercat Grill has introduced MG Business Hub, which allows home-workers to book two-hour slots between 9am and 12pm every Friday. For £10, the customer will reserve themselves a space where they can work, a fresh cup of tea or coffee, a bacon or egg roll and access to the venue’s power points and wi-fi.
“With so many people still working from home, we thought it would be a good idea to help home-workers looking for a change of workspace,” said owner Graham Blaikie.
“We know how isolating it can sometimes feel, working alone from home, so we thought we’d create an area for locals looking for a change of scenery to get on with their tasks, in a safe, warm and friendly space – with an element of background buzz.”
