Ringing the changes

A CLUTCH of businesses across Scotland have changed hands recently in deals brokered by Cornerstone Business Agents.

Kilfinan Hotel in the village of Kilfinan near Tighnabruaich was snapped up by Chris and Helena Harrop – first-time buyers relocating from England – for an undisclosed sum; the hotel had been marketed at £535,000.

And Mansewood Guest House in Lochearnhead was acquired by another buyer from south of the border. John Stephens bought the six-bedroom property for an undisclosed sum from an asking price of £475,000.

Barry McNeil, director of Cornerstone who handled both sales, said demand from buyers south of the border continues to rise.

Elsewhere, Cornerstone also handled the sale of The Parsonage Bar in Cupar on behalf of the Clark family; and the former Le Roi Fou (The Mad King) restaurant premises on Edinburgh’s Forth Street in Edinburgh. The lease was acquired by Edinburgh chef Gordon Craig who plans to relocate his Taisateal restaurant from Stockbridge.
