Tobermory pub reopens after fire

AN award-winning pub on the Isle of Mull has reopened, 14 months after it was gutted by fire.

Macgochans in Tobermory, which had been closed since the May 2019 blaze, was due to reopen earlier this year following a major rebuild and refurbishment project overseen by Neil Morrison, who has been at the helm of the business for over a decade.

However, the coronavirus lockdown meant the new-look venue didn’t open until July – the main bar and restaurant on Friday July 17, followed by the public bar on Wednesday July 29.

The revamped Macgochans features a bold new colour scheme and contemporary furniture.
