Glenglassaugh’s online event unearths nature’s influence on whisky

THE relationship between whisky and nature is to be explored by siblings Stewart and Gordon Buchanan in a special online event.

Taking place on June 24 at 8pm on Glenglassaugh’s Instagram page, global brand ambassador Stewart and brother Gordon, a wildlife filmmaker, will discuss the relationship between “coast and cask” over a virtual dram and will host an online tasting of the Highland distillery’s core whisky range. The siblings will also detail how the location of Glenglassaugh’s distillery on Sandend Bay on the Moray coastline has defined the flavours and textures of its single malts.

Stewart Buchanan said: “It’s great to be joined by my brother Gordon to delve into the importance of place when it comes to Glenglassaugh. As we’re often both travelling for work, we’ll be taking this rare chance to slow down, enjoy a dram together and explore the strong links between coast and cask in the making of this Highland single malt.”

Gordon Buchanan said: “Stewart and I were brought up by the coast and particularly in times like these it’s important to connect with nature – whether that’s physically, or through technology. I hope that whisky and nature fans alike will enjoy joining us online later this month.”
