Jägermeister’s digital hunt

Last year’s winner, Ellie Raeside

JÄGERMEISTER’S annual Meister Hunter cocktail competition is going digital this year as the brand’s parent company encourages bartenders to submit their entries via Instagram.

The contest is challenging participants to submit a video of them creating a Jägermeister cocktail with an emphasis on “flair, creativity and fun”.

The recipe must contain at least 35ml of either Jägermeister, Jägermeister Cold Brew Coffee or Manifest and bartenders can submit their video via Instragram by following and tagging the dedicated Meister Hunter page (@meisterhunter) as well as the Jägermeister UK page (@jagermeisteruk) and using the hashtag #meisterhunter. In addition to the video each entry must include a photo of the finished cocktail, its name and specs.

Participants have until May 1 to enter.

Ten finalists will then be selected by the team at Mast-Jaegermeister UK, with each finalist sent a mystery box of ingredients ahead of the final in mid-May. The boxes will be locked, with finalists sent a code to unlock their box an hour before the final goes live. They will then use the ingredients to make a cocktail, with the final being streamed live on social media.

The winner will receive £3000 in prize money with second place taking £1500 and third place £500.

Mast-Jaegermeister UK marketing director, Nicole Goodwin, said: “These are challenging times for the drinks trade and all the initiatives being made by the company in the UK are in efforts to stay connected to our communities in a positive way whilst providing support.”
