Clynelish is set for a revamp

WORK to upgrade the visitor experience at Clynelish Distillery near Brora is expected to get underway in the next few weeks after plans were rubber-stamped.

The project will include the creation of a new upper floor telling the story of the distillery, and a bar and tasting area. The plans are part of a £150 million spend by Diageo, focused on its Johnnie Walker brand; Clynelish is one of the “key” single malts that goes into making Johnnie Walker, and, together with the Glenkinchie, Cardhu and Caol Ila distilleries, will form a new ‘four corners of Scotland’ tour linked to the new Johnnie Walker venue in Edinburgh.

Clynelish sits next to its currently silent sister distillery, Brora, which is being revived as part of a separate project along with Port Ellen Distillery on Islay.
