ESTABLISHED Glasgow chef Jim Kerr has taken up the role of head chef at The Botany on the city’s Maryhill Road.
Kerr, who succeeds chef John Paul Lappin, takes over the venue’s kitchen after making the move from The Western Club restaurant in Glasgow city centre.
His career includes stints in various city venues, including Rogano, Nairns, and One Devonshire Gardens, as well as time running his own venue, The Dining Room.
He also spent six years as executive chef at the five-star Mar Hall, cooking for various celebrities, including Beyonce and Elton John.
As The Botany’s head chef, Kerr has launched a new menu which, using seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients, offers diners “classic Scottish cuisine, with an international twist”.
