A CHEF from Midlothian has been named as one of the best in the UK at the Craft Guild of Chef’s National Chef of the Year 2019.
Derek Johnstone, head chef at Borthwick Castle near Edinburgh, who won the first series of Masterchef: The Professionals in 2008, secured a podium finish at the competition and received the Exceptional Presentation Award.
Johnstone said: “To take a place on the podium is a massive achievement during my first year in the competition.”
