DIAGEO Reserve brands has been announced as the headline sponsor for the inaugural Edinburgh Cocktail Festival, which got underway today.
The month-long festival, running from today (August 4) to August 28 in the New Waverley development just off the Royal Mile, has been organised and curated by The Drink Cabinet in collaboration with Food + Flea Market.
Throughout the festival, visitors can expect to be greeted by an array of cocktail bars, food-stalls, masterclasses, and pop-up events in the capital.
As headline sponsor, Diageo Reserve is inviting festival-goers to take part in a raft of activities designed to give an insight into Edinburgh’s cocktail culture.
Guests will be invited to tailor their own Bloody Mary at the Ketel One Vodka Kitchen, while the Tanqueray No. Ten Gin Forest will allow participants the chance to forage herbs and botanicals to create a bespoke Tanqueray serve.
Elsewhere, a #LoveScotch masterclass will guide consumers through the steps necessary to make cocktail-bar worthy drinks at home – serving up classics such as the Old Fashioned, personalised to individual tastes with the use of single malts and single grain whiskies, syrups, bitters and garnishes.
Nick Temperley, head of Diageo Reserve GB, said the festival is “a wonderful celebration of cocktail culture”.
“At Diageo, we are dedicated to working alongside great bartenders to create delicious drinks and memorable experiences and so it’s a fitting partnership for us to headline the month-long festival,” said Temperley.
