TV campaign aims to drive Xtra sales

THE trademark Irn-Bru sense of humour has returned in a new TV campaign for Irn-Bru Xtra.

The new ad, which has aired throughout June supported by extensive digital and social media activity, highlights the various, ‘unbelievable’, powers granted by the drink, including the ability to speak to animals and even raise the dead.

Parent firm AG Barr expects the new ad to create significant consumer demand for Irn-Bru Xtra; the firm suggests licensees “display it prominently next to regular and sugar-free Irn-Bru to encourage trial and drive incremental category sales”.

The TV campaign follows the launch of Irn-Bru Xtra in August last year. AG Barr claims it will support the brand with £5 million of investment this year.
According to IRI Marketplace figures quoted by AG Barr, the soft drinks market in Scotland is currently worth £838m.
