CARLSBERG UK has unveiled five new draught and 12 new packaged world, craft and speciality beers.
The beers are listed in its new Crafted Handbook after Carlsberg ran a competition giving independent breweries the chance to secure a listing in the book.
Toast Ale, which is claimed to be the UK’s first ‘bread to beer’ ale, was revealed as the winner, and features alongside a total of 65 different beers and ciders in this year’s listing.
The Crafted Handbook also includes listings from Brooklyn Brewery following Carlsberg UK’s partnership with the brewery to market and distribute its beers.
Adrian Rigby, marketing manager for Crafted at Carlsberg UK, said: “We are committed to developing and growing the craft beer category, which has seen huge growth in popularity over recent years.”
Elsewhere, Carlsberg UK’s wine division, Crown Cellars, has launched its 2017/18 portfolio, which is said to feature a mix of proven favourites and new additions. The collection of 500 wines is said to have been chosen based on each wine’s quality credentials, customer feedback and market trends.
Carlsberg UK’s Paul Waller said: “We have over 20 years’ experience of supplying to on-trade operators and are continually evolving our portfolio to meet their needs. I am confident our expertly chosen 2017/18 range will help them to drive their wine sales even further in the next year.”
