Who will head up village hotel?

Well-established business for sale after 25 years

A village hotel that dates from the 18th century has come onto the market after 25 years under the same family ownership.

• The hotel has been owned by the same family for 25 years and is run under management.

Originally a coaching inn, the Uplawmoor Hotel in the village of Uplawmoor, 13 miles from Glasgow, is said to have been developed into “one of the most reputable and established businesses in the area”.

The Uplawmoor Hotel is an established, well-presented, thriving business.

The hotel, a former SLTN Award-winner, comprises 14 en suite bedrooms, a cocktail bar, a lounge bar and restaurant; there’s also a beer garden and accommodation suitable for a manager or owner.
Under the same family ownership for the past 25 years, the hotel is currently run under management with the owners assisting in the day to day running.
Graeme Smith of Smith & Clough, which is marketing the Uplawmoor Hotel with a price tag of offers over £750,000 for the freehold, said the hotel “can only be described as one of the most reputable and established businesses in the area”.
“The Uplawmoor Hotel offers a fantastic opportunity for either a chef, family or private multiple operator to acquire a well-presented, established and thriving business that still offers the potential to increase trading levels,” he said.
