Mike McGinty books place in Patrón comp world final
EDINBURGH-based bartender Mike McGinty is headed down Mexico way with tequila brand Patrón after topping the UK final of the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition.
McGinty, who slings cocktails at The Voyage of Buck, booked a place in the competition’s grand final to be held at Hacienda Patrón on January 25, where he will be joined by winners from six other nations: Spain, France, Italy, Australia, the UAE and Mexico.
This year’s final will see competitors demonstrate their skill to an expert panel of judges who will assess each bartender on criteria including craftsmanship, attention to detail and “commitment to absolute perfection”.
