A brew built for the autumn

EDINBURGH-based Caledonian Brewery has unveiled its latest seasonal ale, Autumn Red, which is available for a limited time on draught.

009_autumn-redThe seasonal brew is a 4.4% ABV red ale which the brewer said is made from Hersbrucker hops with a “gentle aroma” which combines with the “sweet caramel notes” from the rye crystal malt to lead to a “mellow and fruitful finish”.
Craig Steven, beers manager and beer academy sommelier at Caledonian Brewery, said that autumn can be a “challenging time” for publicans as customers opt to “stay indoors”.
“Autumn Red is the perfect antidote to this, offering drinkers a seasonal treat tempting them to stay longer in outlet and buy that second pint,” he said.
“It’s the perfect match with comforting hot dishes such as game pies and sausage and mash.”
