A HOTEL in the Midlothian town of Penicuik has been snapped up by a local company in a deal brokered by Cornerstone Business Agents.
Described as a “beautiful property”, the Craigiebield Hotel was sold on behalf of Oxford Hotels and Inns to Maramar Holdings – a company whose directors have other business interests in the area and personal ties to Penicuik.
Set in its own gardens, the property comprises a bar, conservatory restaurant, a large function suite and 17 letting bedrooms.
Cornerstone director Derek Burgoyne said he is sure the new owners will have “impressive plans to renovate the property”.
The hotel had been on the market with an asking price of £575,000; it was sold for an undisclosed sum.
