A NEW Midlothian brewery marked its official launch last week at CAMRA’s City of Edinburgh Pub of the Year, The Stockbridge Tap.
Established in May of this year by Gary Munckton (left) and Jonathan Wilson (right), Cross Borders Brewing Company is based in Hardengreen Industrial Estate in Dalkeith.
It currently brews 3000 pints a week and aims to treble output to 9000 pints a week in the next three years. The brewer’s core range of beers includes 3.8% ABV Pale, 4.5% IPA, 4.1% Heavy and 4.2% Porter; there’s also four seasonal brews.
Co-founder and director Gary Munckton said the beers have already gained listings in a number of “extremely prominent and well-respected” pubs and bars. “Every new stockist makes us proud to be setting out in this great industry, and the support it’s shown us is incredible,” he said.
