Liqueur brands Southern Comfort and Tuaca have a new distributor in the UK thanks to an agreement with drinks marketing and distribution firm Hi-Spirits.
The brands will be under Hi-Spirits’ care from tomorrow (April 1) following the acquisition of the brands by US spirits company Sazerac from Brown-Forman.
Dan Bolton, managing director of Hi-Spirits, said both Southern Comfort and Tuaca are “iconic brands” and “a great fit with our expanding portfolio”.
“With strong consumer followings we are looking forward to building further distribution across the UK on-trade, off-trade and travel retail channels,” he said.
“We’re very excited to be working with current and new stockists of Southern Comfort and Tuaca to drive growth.”
Originating in Italy, Tuaca is a brandy-based spirit which is traditionally served as an ice cold shot.
Tasting notes for Tuaca describe the liqueur as vanilla citrus in flavour.
The liqueur’s parent firm Sazerac is said to be developing a global marketing strategy for the brand, which is due to be unveiled in the coming months. The new strategy is expected to focus on the brand’s heritage.
