Trade turns out for Ben Dinner

More than a thousand people gathered at the Glasgow City Hotel on February 4 for the biggest charity event on the licensed trade calendar, the Ben Dinner.

The event this year raised more than £112,000 for the charity, which provides support to members of the licensed trade that have fallen on hard times.

Ben president David Morton was host for the evening, with entertainment provided by after-dinner speakers Sandy Strang and Willie Young.

Ben chief executive Chris Gardner hailed the “fantastic support from the trade”.

“It was great to see so many familiar faces and some new ones coming along to support our charity,” she said.

“It never ceases to amaze me seeing so many supportive people in one room. My thanks goes to each and every one.”
