OPERATORS on the look out for a self-catering accommodation business might be interested in a luxury lodge in the Spey Valley, which has come onto the books of property firm Strutt & Parker.
Located near Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park, Big Husky Lodge was completed in summer 2014 and is said to have been built and finished to the “very highest standard”.
The nine-bedroom lodge offers accommodation across three floors, including an open-plan living space at ground floor level, which comprises a lounge area with cathedral roof, a bar server area, a “well-equipped” kitchen, large dining space and a spa suite.
The en suite master bedroom is located on the first floor along with a further three bedrooms and a family bathroom, while the lower ground floor houses five en suite bedrooms, a lounge and a games room.
Outside, the property has two dining areas, a hot tub, barbecue and dining areas and an enclosed garden with children’s play area.
Strutt & Parker said Big Husky Lodge, which has a price tag of offers over £1.1 million, is an easily run business with “significant potential” to increase trade through catering and weddings.
“The lodge trades as a highly profitable letting business with 97% average occupancy since opening,” said the property agent in a statement.
“The surrounding countryside is amongst the finest in the Highlands and provides a wealth of excellent rural sporting opportunities. The Cairngorm ski area is close by and sailing, kayaking and windsurfing are available on nearby Lochs Morlich and Insh.”
