Christmas gin back in action

Edinburgh Gin owner Spencerfield Spirit Company has reintroduced its limited edition Christmas Gin.
The special version of the gin was first released last year and is said to be infused with festive spices including frankincense, myrrh and nutmeg.

A new bottle, fashioned from Bruni Glass, has been created for this year’s release. It is described as having an “opulent art deco label” which combines the colours of Christmas, while the bottle itself is more slimline, making it easier for bartenders to hold and pour.
Spencerfield claims it will donate £1 from every bottle of Christmas Gin sold in the UK to the Trussell Trust, which operates food banks across the UK. The money will be earmarked for use in Scotland.
Alex Nicol, managing director of Spencerfield Spirit, said: “We are so pleased to be bringing our Christmas Gin back for a second year and to be supporting the Trussell Trust, which does amazing work in Edinburgh and throughout the UK.
“Christmas Gin was extremely successful for us last year so we are looking forward to seeing what this year brings.”
The company claims the limited edition small-batch gin is the only spirit of its kind.
It has been developed at the Edinburgh Gin distillery in partnership with Heriot-Watt University School of Distilling.
The limited edition spirit will be available from the Edinburgh Gin Distillery, Vino and Royal Mile Whiskies.
“The new design of the bottle and the inimitable label makes the gin stand out from the crowd and it perfectly represents the Christmas season,” added Nicol.
“No festive dinner table would be complete without a bottle of Christmas Gin.”
