THE firm behind The Glenlivet has replaced the 12 year old expression with a new no age statement whisky called The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve.
Rolled out from last month, the new “core expression” is intended to “honour the original vision” of The Glenlivet’s founder George Smith.
The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve is said to be drawn predominantly from a range of traditional aged oak casks, while the “fruity profile” is “complemented by selective use of first-fill American oak casks”.
Vicky Hoey of parent firm Pernod Ricard said the launch of the new expression comes on the back of “another year of impressive growth” for the brand in the UK.
“Founder’s Reserve will continue The Glenlivet’s exciting journey, bringing to life the heart and soul of The Glenlivet,” she said.
“Purchase intent among our test group for The Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve was even higher than for The Glenlivet 12 year old, so we believe that the new expression will not only be a hit, but will also generate additional interest in The Glenlivet range.”
