SHS Drinks, the firm behind RTD brand WKD,has been distributing special themed headgear in the trade ahead of St Patrick’s Day.
The firm is providing outlets with ‘WKD Shamrock Head’ hats as part of a promotion offering consumers a chance to win a “genuine Irish shamrock head (Made in China)” via a scratch card with every purchase of WKD.
The shamrock hat promotion is being supported by point of sale kits which include posters featuring a range of St Patrick’s Day-themed WKD cocktail recipes.
The WKD St Patrick’s Day cocktail list comprises three serves: ‘WKD 4 Leaf Clover’, ‘WKD Paddy Pitcher’, and ‘WKD Lucky Green’. Each serve is made from a combination of WKD Green with either a spirit or liqueur and lemonade.
Debs Carter, marketing director for alcohol at SHS Drinks, said St Patrick’s Day is “a major highlight in the on-trade social calendar”.
“We’re giving WKD stockists a head start by providing them with support which will generate incremental sales through creating fun for consumers around the event,” she said.
“The shamrock heads will contribute to people’s enjoyment of the occasion and our special cocktails will help consumers celebrate in style.
“WKD has a strong track record in helping licensees make the most of seasonal events and holidays, and the shamrock heads are set to generate an extra buzz in pubs and bars in Scotland this March.”
Previous WKD seasonal headgear promotions include the ‘WKD Sprout Hat’ and the ‘WKD Christ-moose’.
