• The Skye Bar at Flodigarry Hotel was part of a major refurbishment project.

THE Flodigarry Hotel on Skye has reopened its bar and restaurant following an extensive refurbishment project.

The redesigned High Tide Restaurant and Skye Bar are said to offer informal dining with views over Flodigarry and Staffin Island.
The project comes a year after Flodigarry Hotel was bought by Dutch husband and wife team Paul and Bette Temming.
As well as the refurbishment, the pair have also recruited German-born Roland Trautsch as head chef.
“We’ve been astounded and delighted by the support guests and locals alike have shown us,” said Bette.
“We believed we could create something special and from guests’ feedback we’re not far off.
“Roland and his creations have been integral to our success so far.
“Before Easter, without the signage, we were concerned people wouldn’t find us or realise we were open but it seems word of mouth was far more powerful.”
