THE owner of a Fife hotel has slammed the local council after being forced to remove signage from a vehicle used to transport guests to and from the venue.

The vehicle, a seven-seat Mercedes, previously had the logo for Balbirnie House hotel in Markinch on its exterior.
However Fife Council ruled that the vehicle could not be awarded the required ‘private hire’ licence with the branding.
Owner Nicholas Russell has criticised the council’s “ludicrous decision” and launched an online petition.
