MAULE, who ran one of Scotland’s most famous fine dining restaurants, Glasgow's Chardon d’Or, for 22 years, has signed up for a six-month stint to pass on his knowledge and experience to staff across Buzzworks’ 19 venue kitchens.

For the last 10 years, Mark has been brand ambassador at Glenfiddich. Whilst at William Grant & Sons he was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich in 2019 and awarded ‘Ambassador of the Year’ no less than three times.

The scholarships were handed out at the annual HIT Talent Conference, at Glasgow's Voco Grand Central Hotel, where delegates assembled to hear a line-up of inspirational speakers.

The three-day, ‘community-focused’ trade event, will run April 8 to April 10 with a ‘full calendar of unique and memorable bar takeovers, seminars, collaborations, demonstrations and tastings’.

SCOTLAND’S policy of enforcing a minimum price per unit of alcohol is to be continued and strengthened, it was announced today, with that minimum price rising from 50p to 65p per unit.

Oddly, although driving a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or with an alcohol concentration above the limit constitutes a relevant offence, a refusal to take a breath test does not.
