Scotch at The Balmoral celebrates women in whisky with new flight

Stefanie Anderson has worked closely with Scotch’s manager Ross Barr on its first ‘women in whisky’ menu

Marking the start of a series of collaborations with women in whisky, The Balmoral hotel’s dedicated whisky bar Scotch has launched a flight menu selected in collaboration with Diageo luxury ambassador Stefanie Anderson.

Available from 13 June through to September, the flight and a specially concocted accompanying cocktail are designed to spotlight a ‘different perspective ‘on whisky.

This first collaboration’s aim is to introduce new flavour profiles and ways to explore whisky, whilst also setting the tone for how the bar will continue to evolve its guest experience.

Anderson has worked closely with Scotch’s manager Ross Barr and his team to shape this inaugural women in whisky line-up, which is topped by the signature serve, La Dame du Usquabae – described as ‘a bright, elegant mix’ of Cardhu 18 year-old, white peach, apple, honey and citrus, topped with Champagne.

The flight itself features three standout drams, curated to take customers ‘on a journey of flavour, texture and whisky stories’.

First there is The Singleton of Dufftown 18 year-old, said to offer orchard fruit, honey and vanilla on the nose with a creamy palate and a long, elegant finish of soft oak and gentle sweetness.

There’s the Dailuaine 21 year-old ‘Marbled Treasures’ 2025 special release, described as rich and sherried with notes of dried fruits and warming spice, a full palate of raisins, brown sugar and roasted nuts, and a long, gently spiced finish.

Finishing the trio is Talisker 25 year-old, a refined coastal whisky balancing sea salt, citrus and soft smoke with layers of honey, dried fruit and peppery spice, leading into a long, warming finish.

“Women play such an important role in shaping whisky, but they haven’t always been front and centre in the industry,” said Barr.

“This is about bringing those perspectives forward in a way that feels natural, enjoyable and genuinely enhances how our guests experience whisky here in Scotch.”

Anderson added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Ross and the Scotch team on something that not only elevates the guest experience but brings a fresh perspective to the bar in a lasting and genuine way.

“The aim was to select whiskies that really speak through flavour and texture, and to show just how broad and exciting Scotch can be, especially for those who are whisky-curious or who haven’t yet found their way in, whether through intimidation or simply not knowing where to start.”

The Balmoral’s whisky bar is home to over 500 bottles spanning Scotland’s whisky regions. Its series of collaborations with women in whisky will continue beyond September with other expert women in whisky.
