Edinburgh businesswomen Louise Maclean, of the Signature Group, and Janet Nicol, of McGregor Hairdressing, turned their milestone birthday celebrations into a fundraising effort for the cityās breast cancer charity, House of Hope.
Over 100 people attended Louise and Janetās āheartfelt show of supportā for those affected by breast cancer, which was staged at Signatureās Cold Town House in the Grassmarket, raising Ā£9,000.
Those funds will support House of Hope, a local charity that provides sanctuary, support and expert resources for individuals diagnosed with breast cancer.
Charity founder Lisa Fleming said: āThe House of Hope has become a much-needed haven for people living with primary and secondary breast cancer.
āAs someone living with terminal breast cancer myself, I understand just how vital it is to have a safe, supportive space where people can access expert guidance, compassion and community.
āWe rely on the kindness and generosity of people like Louise and Janet, whose incredible effort and spirit have helped us continue to grow as we approach our first anniversary,ā said Fleming.
āTheir support means we can be there for more people when they need us most, offering hope, strength and understanding as well as physical support at every stage of their journey.ā
The Cold Town House event was compĆØred by former Scotland international rugby union player, Andy Nicol, and featured a three-course meal, a fashion show by Tigerlily Boutique, live music from Bleeker, and a live auction with generously donated prizes.
Louise Maclean said: āAs a breast cancer survivor myself, this was a charity close to my chest in more ways than one! Lisa Fleming is a powerhouse of good, and supporting her House of Hope was a natural connection.
āThe House of Hope needs to be seen to be believed, and only good things can come from such a centre of breast cancer excellence, knowledge and support.ā
Janet Nicol added: āIt was a privilege to raise money for House of Hope and an utter joy to throw such a great party with a philanthropic goal. I only wish birthdays came around more often so we could do it all again!ā
