Edinburgh whisky bar The Auld Hundred has teamed up with Annandale Distillery to launch its own brand single cask, single malt.

Over the last year, the team behind Rose Street traditional pub has been working with the Dumfries and Galloway distillers to create and bottle ā€˜Auld Dram’, which is now available exclusively from the New Town venue.

Around 290 bottles of the limited-edition tipple are being produced at 50% ABV and made available by the dram and bottle, while stocks last.

Auld Hundred’s single malt has been matured for six years in an ex-bourbon cask, non-chill filtered, giving it a natural colour.

Its tasting notes speak of wood spice, vanilla, biscuit, pepper, stone fruits and stewed apples, with a light floral aroma of ā€˜sweet biscuity malt, buttery vanilla, golden syrup, and cooked orchard fruits’.

TheĀ Auld Hundred is a popular destination for whisky lovers, with over 100 whiskies available in-house, claimed to be one of the largest whisky collections in Edinburgh. It is also known as one of Rose Street’s oldest pubs, beginning life as a mission hall before becoming a pub in the 1800s, with ā€˜history etched into every snug corner and well-worn beam’.

Whisky ambassador for Auld Hundred owners Signature Group, Chris Sloan, said: ā€œAfter a year of hard work and determination, we’re so excited to be finally raising a glass to our very own dram, thanks to the skill and craftsmanship of our friends at Annandale Distillery.

ā€œOur Auld Hundred single malt now takes pride of place amongst one of the largest whisky collections in Edinburgh and is exclusively available from us by the dram or by the bottle for locals to enjoy at home and as a souvenir for visitors to the city.

ā€œFor those with a sweet tooth, our new dram pairs perfectly with our homemade sticky toffee pudding.ā€

UK market manager from Annandale Distillery, John Coombes, added: “Upon meeting the Auld Hundred team, I could tell we shared the same passion for whisky.

ā€œIt has been my pleasure collaborating with them to bring their vision to life. We are proud of this dram. I look forward to its success and working with Chris and the Auld Hundred team again.”
