
Head chef David Smith and junior sous chef Fin MacDonald of Ullapoolās award winning The Dipping Lugger, have been shortlisted as finalists inĀ the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2026.
Smith has been shortlisted in the Restaurant Chef category,Ā while MacDonald has been recognised in the Young Chef category, placing the UllapoolĀ duo among some of the UKās most accomplished chefs and rising culinary stars.
Widely regarded as the āchefsāĀ Oscarsā,Ā the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards celebrateĀ exceptional talent across the hospitality industry, from apprentices andĀ emerging chefs to seasoned professionals working across restaurants, pubs andĀ wider catering environments.

Smith said: āItās aĀ real honour to be shortlisted alongside such an incredible group of chefs.

In addition to the main 14 categories, the Craft Guild ofĀ Chefs will also be presenting a Special Award to a chef who has made an outstandingĀ contribution to the industry.
Previous winners include Clare Smyth, Asma KhanĀ and Simon Rogan.
Winners will be announced at a ceremony held at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Wednesday, 10 June.
